Just something I had been wondering for a while. Forgive me if some quest text answers this question somewhere, but has it been revealed yet exactly what it was that killed off humanity in this setting? I was assuming it was nuclear war, but if that was the case, wouldn't exploration-related quests also make note of radioactive environments and the potential sickness it could cause? Also, for an irradiated wasteland the world our scientists explore seems pretty lively, with lots of plant and animal diversity. A lot of quests just seem like we're going on fun little nature hikes. For that matter, where did all these new species come from? A few hundred years isn't really enough for this kind of evolution.
I'm guessing that the creators of the game are purposefully avoiding going into seriously-dark territory in order to keep the site friendly for younger players, but if Outpost One is the only surviving enclave of humans, I can't help but feel our scientists would be dealing with some existential dread, as well as the knowledge that any friends or family they had before they went into cryostasis are dead, and possibly died horribly at that.

Juvie Predictor (data needed!) |

Are you able to wait patiently while your creatures grow up to learn what genes they have? Me neither! I am currently working with Virida to add juvenile creature prediction to their Breeding Genetics/Appearance Predictor. The juvenile version of the creature you're predicting will appear alongside it, as well as a 3x larger version, to make it easier to examine while you're checking one of your juvenile creatures in your browser.
I've been combing through click sites gathering all the juvenile images I possibly can, but there are still certain species and genes I need help with! I will update this thread periodically with the list of species and genes I'm currently looking for.
For Mac users that cannot run the predictor, or just for anyone that is interested, I have also included links to folders that include a species' genes and a 3x version.
Tips for the gene folders: The images are numbered 0-26 for each gene combo, as that is how the predictor needs them to be named. The order is the same as TFO's predictor's dropdown menus, but here's a quick image guide:
For creatures that have different juvie sprites for each gender, the images will have the male on the left and the female on the right.
Note that some creatures use the same juvie image for multiple gene combos, so make sure to check all the options. There are also many genes that are not visible on juvies.
Possible Errors: For semi-transparent genes, I have tried to approximate the transparent colors as best I can, but they may be very slightly off. I have also used some recoloring techniques to obtain the base colors of creatures that have proved difficult to find. There shouldn't be any errors noticeable to the eye, but if you see any glaring mistakes, such as a mislabeled gene color that doesn't match the adult image for the gene, let me know and I will do my best to fix it.
To submit juvie images, just post a link to the creature here. If the creature has grown up but you have juvie images, name the file with the creature's code and post it here.

TFO's First (Nearly) Birthday Feature Update
It's hard to believe TFO's almost a year old now—it's come so far in such a short time! Thank you to the spriters, writers, and the amazing community for making TFO what it is today.
To celebrate this achievement, I'm happy to announce we have some new, exciting features being introduced today! To make TFO even more realistic, we're adding some new mechanics to the site. As always, please report any bugs so that they may be squashed posthaste.
• Gold caps for daily clicking and breeding have been reduced by 50% in a bid to reduce inflation. Hopefully this will help market prices.
• Extended growth times. Creatures will now take on average 2-3 days longer to grow.
• Breeding refusals – Just as they can in real life, creatures can now refuse a mate. A refusal means they cannot be bred together without the use of a Pheromone Treatment, which can be purchased in the store for 50 gold.
• Sickness – Creatures can now get sick if they gain too many views too fast. You can purchase a Cure in the store for 100 gold to cure sickness. If you do not cure sickness within seven days, the creature will begin to lose stats every following day until cured.
• Death – Creatures can now be permanently killed using the Kill action under Creature actions. Please note that this is permanent and cannot be reversed. Lineages will display a dead version of the creature for all creatures killed.

I have just been informed that the host will be performing unexpected emergency maintenance sometime between 6:00 - 14:00 server time (1am - 9am EST) on Sunday, March 28th. There is expected to be between 1 and 3 hours of downtime. The issue the host will be fixing is likely what caused the extended downtime last night.
