  New Species Discovered
Posted by: Corteo - 11-26-2020, 05:00 PM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (29)

After the previous event madness and before the next we are very happy to announce another discovery.
[Image: 6r3k8.png][Image: FKqOw.png]

PRIORITY: URGENT
PURPOSE: ANNOUNCEMENT
SUBJECT: NEW SPECIES DISCOVERED
Attention all scientists!
As the commotion around the recent outbreak of the Fade settles and we are able to return to our regular duties, it is with great pleasure that we announce the discovery of a new species by our very own Iris Evada!
Due to the Fade’s interruption of her intended sailing schedule, Iris has been spending what free time she has exploring the vicinity of the outpost. This led to the discovery of some odd objects she has taken to calling pellets—leavings of some sort of unfamiliar creature. Further investigation led her to the majestic Vira Bekos. The attached report contains photographs, detailed sketches, and many field notes from her observations.
Here are a few excerpts from her report

These will flood for 48 hours before joining the regular rotation.

Surprised there doesn't seem to be a thread for these soft tentacly lovelies! Either that or I'm blind, which is always a (pretty good) possibility. (If so, sorry!)

My absolute favourite of the lot I managed to nab is this boy:

Given how colourful these are, this one's dichromatic nature seems pretty rare!

I'm also partial to the red body type:

Although I didn't manage to nab one of the red-bodies with a bright red head, which I could imagine looks stunning. :D

Did you really think we'd end on a cliff hanger?

We have organized a small page to track the event statistics which you can see here.  Enjoy!  Also be sure to drop a thank you below to the wonderful staff team that helped make our first event so wonderful.

The GSP progress bar has been filled!
Posted by: Corteo - 11-14-2020, 11:01 AM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (5)

As you place you prepare you final samples for the sequencer, you can't help but think about the high tensions in the outpost.

(Even though the progress bar is full, the sequencer will stay until the 16th to give people the chance to complete their badge levels and make a bit more gold)

You’re making great progress with the GSP today

But you hear a knocking at the door.  Maybe you should go answer it?

11/11/2020 - The requirement for the latest quest has been changed from five to three juveniles after user feedback. If you have already given Thad five he thanks you for your sacrifice to science.

  Remaining event schedule
Posted by: Corteo - 11-06-2020, 11:01 AM - Forum: Announcements - Replies (3)

Hi everyone,

For the sake of clarity and to give users a chance to plan, this is the remaining important dates for the event:

  • The event creatures will continue dropping in the cupboard until the 15th.
  • By extrapolating the current data of the global progress bar we can project that the GSP and Virus Isolator will be available until the 16th.
  • All of the event quests will be available to play until the 20th.

Enjoy the rest of the event!

  Quests...

Are we allowed to discuss them at all? I'm asking because my friend and I are currently stuck on one together and we can't figure it out.  We're literally going around in circles thinking of what to do to the point we're getting frustrated.  If we could discuss them, I'll elaborate on the quest.  If not, welp...crap.

  Virus Isolation Experts Needed

As you take a quick break to check your messages on your computer, a new bulletin catches your eye.

Virus Isolation Experts Needed
Do you have experience isolating viruses? We need your help in prepping samples for use in the GSPs! Contact Marsh for more information.

Hm, maybe you should check that outYou are getting rather exhausted from the GSP, after all

The event creatures will flood until the end of the 2nd of November and then drop as commons until November 15th.  They will be back next year.

Quick tips on the GSP (with pictures)
Posted by: OreoTheRabbit - 10-28-2020, 07:21 PM - Forum: Site Discussion - No Replies

- Difficult/'you think you're hot stuff' is easier than easy/'Easy-Peasy'.

- You can type four of the same letter to easily tell if it's in your code, and how many of it are in your code.

- Code feedback always goes in the order of _, 1, 0, regardless of the actual correct position (note how both B and a have a _ in the first position).

- If you get doubles, try putting them together in the left and right positions. If you get _ _ 1 1, you most likely need to swap your remaining two letters (note that this does not always apply, as it may be a coincidence). If you get _ 1 1 1 on both attempts, try putting your doubles in the middle.

- If you get all unique letters, try using an incorrect letter to find the position of the first three (in this case, I used a).
