I think they might be based on Galápagos Islands tortoises, with the turtle part and the island part. Also some of their behaviors match. The reason it's turtles (which live in water) even though it's Galápagos Islands tortoises (which live on land) is because an island has plants on it and lives in the shallow water.
Super neat species! I'm exited to find out what varieties of plants grow on them.

I wouldn't be able to give an answer on that unfortunately - I've only been playing since April and this would be my second new release. As Virida mentioned, there's probably a number of factors involved with goal amounts and I'd imagine the community unlocking the Dentega Salto notes' within a few hours last release had some impact on it lol As of yesterday the Vetura Oazo's creature notes are unlocked and caps are now available to purchase in the splicer!
