UPDATE: Project halted indefinitely. If someone wishes to take over or request this to be continued, please PM me as I am currently the sole organizer of this sheet and thread.

Due to the cooperative nature of the task, I propose the following solution to tracking the variety of creatures that can be raised, as well as an indirect tracker to check for existing genetic combinations for a certain species.
Edit: As of now, the Research Reference Repository has figured out a way to install a genetic predictor feature. It has been good that the database has been able to serve predicting purposes for people before that. I will still continue to work on it, as the goal of tracking the variety of existing creatures is still relevant. The consequence is that the labels will not be fully detailed, and you may have to either search through the database or use the installed predictor tool to see how a gene corresponds to a creature's appearance.

The solution is presented in the form of RESEARCH_FILES that makes use of the classical powerful Google Sheets.

As of now, I am the sole maintainer and worker of this sheet and the tracking activity. Feedback would be appreciated in improving presentability and usefulness of the work.

+ SPECIES is the Main Sheet. TEAM and RECORD are just extras. BREEDING_BASICS is a basic guide on predicting the offspring of two creatures. There are sheet links within the main sheet and there are return links for each sheet, located on the top rightmost part of sheet.

+ VARIATIONS refer to the parts of the body that may vary from the other parts when genetic changes occur.

+ Sortable Sheets for each species using the state-of-the-art filter views. To create a filter view, go to Data > Filter Views > Create New Temporary Filter. Select a column, open its Filter options (the three horizontal lines icon), Filter by Condition > Custom formula is > Use this formula to find the specific gene:

=EXACT(A:A, "AaBb")

where A:A is the column (if the column label is B, use B:B instead) and AaBb is the genetic label being searched.

+ When genetic data is complete, their genetic labels will be used instead, with matching font colors. As for variations of markings, a legend will be provided on an extra column in the sheet.

+ If genetic data is incomplete, researchers may work together (including myself) to figure out the genetic variations until the respective Lab Notes are unlocked, which by then can be used to cross-check and validate genetic research. ZnowyOwl, a peer of mine, has helped in cooperation to identify the genes and their effects on variation of a creature so far. More of the work can be found in ZnowyOwl's sheet linked in credits below.

If you have one or more of a species that has not been recorded in the database, you can now help by submitting the creature's code using the link below.

Update: 9 May 2020. Collected Saltanta snapshots and recorded them in the database.
(It's a bit tiring ^^' )
With the new feature, I think I will replace the placeholder colors from my observations with the true genetics based on the Lab Notes. I did not choose Strange Sciuro and Tagalo, but in the future when I do add them, I will use the genetic codes from lab notes instead of naked eye observations for labels. Until then, it'll take a while before I have the time and motivation to insert either one of the two species into the database.
Update: 19 May 2020
Tagalo spreadsheet has been made, the first one to utilise Lab Notes.
Thanks to ZnowyOwl for conducting research beforehand and letting me use them to speed up my research.

Also, seeing that there's clear genetics once lab notes are accessible, I will hold on recording for Fluganta Ratos and Saltantas until the respective Lab Notes have been unlocked.
Hi, new here to the site, thank you for creating this spreadsheet it's helpful and great to see the collection of different colors/variations in one place!

Here is some new ones that I didn't see in there, these are hatchling forms only right now.

Fluganta Rato - both are female hatchlings

Muskbirdo - male hatchling

Tagalo - male hatchling

Suna Hundo - male hatchling

I hope this helps, if this is the wrong place to post this please let me know.

edit: ahhhh I had hatchling pictures but now they turned into adult pictures on its own. doh
It's ok, this thread isn't so strict so feel free to post things, haha!
I did not see them yesterday, all I see are adults now, but it's ok XD
On that note, I should try to complete some images for the basics of each species, yes.
For now, I am set on checking sheets of creatures whose Lab Notes have been unlocked, in this case, Tagalos.
I will make sheets for others when I have time soon, especially reworking Fluganta Ratos.

That Tagalos variation indeed is not in the sheet yet, added to the database! Thank you :D
Heya Blue, I wanna know if you wanted help with collecting data for the database? I'm  inexperienced with using Google Docs but did you want help collecting images and other stuff?

Some new species need to be added to the database as well. We have the 4 new cave species to document, and the previous entries. I can also use Discord to help with info and image exchanging. Feel free to PM me if you wanna, I don't mind offering some help! OuO/
Thanks for the offer, that would be great! I'm slow on researching new creatures and figuring out how many variation parts of a species exist before the funds for their respective Lab Notes are unlocked.

I have an idea to make a sort of Google Forms so that people can enter their creatures along with their genetics which have not existed in the database yet, and I can fill them into the respective sheets when I have time. I'll implement that soon when I have time :D

(Also, Fluganta Ratos sheet is being made soon, and then moving on to the recently unlocked Saltantas my favorite)
Info of new species discovered

(red egg with bumps - need image)
Uniform bumps encircle this deep red capsule.
hatches into = Ombra Vesperto

(blue egg of crystals - need image)
A soft iridescence shimmers on this rough capsule’s surface.
hatches into = ????

(purple ring - need image)
This ring-shaped capsule has a smooth, hard surface.
hatches into = ????

(yellow vial - need image)
There is a faint smell rising from this slender capsule.
hatches into = ????

adding this here to add to database and kinda like a capsule guide
That's a good idea :o
Thanks, Danafox! Added capsule descriptions in the database. I am the type of person who seeks capsules through the images rather than the descriptions, so I missed that.
I will independently search around for the images someday, don't worry about them :)
(Also, thanks to Psycada for the fan wiki and early information!)

Fluganta Ratos sheet will be added soon, as well as a Google Form that allows anyone to contribute to the database for existing sheets
